Job Description

Barton Mines Company is hiring a full-time Electrician for our North Creek, NY operation. Founded in 1878, Barton Mines Company is a family-owned producer of high-quality garnet abrasives used in industrial and commercial applications worldwide. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and installing electrical systems and components throughout our three facilities to ensure the safe and reliable operation of equipment and infrastructure. Monitor system performance, order electrical supplies, and ensure all work is completed in accordance with applicable safety standards, technical specifications, and operational requirements. This position performs preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical controls, motor control centers, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), power distribution systems, lighting, wiring, conduit, circuit breakers, process control instrumentation, and related electrical equipment. The role primarily interacts with 34.5kV, 480V, 120-220V, 12-24VDC, and 4-20mA. This position works Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. , with overtime required as necessary.
The ideal candidate should have:
High school diploma Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship or vocational/technical training program Valid Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification Five (5) or more years of experience performing industrial electrical maintenance and repair in a manufacturing, mining, processing, or other heavy industrial environment. Five (5) or more years experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical control systems using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, clamp meters, and insulation testers. Thorough knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including AC/DC power distribution, MCCs, VFDs, PLCs, control circuits, transformers, motors, lighting systems, and electrical distribution equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and manufacturer's specifications. Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA or MSHA regulations. Basic computer skills for maintenance documentation, work orders, and inventory management. Valid driver's license.
