Job Description

Barton Mines Company is hiring a full-time Millwright for our North Creek, NY operation. Founded in 1878, Barton Mines Company is a family-owned producer of high-quality garnet abrasives used in industrial and commercial applications worldwide. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Perform advanced mechanical maintenance, repair, fabrication, and installation of industrial equipment. Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to safely install, align, and secure machinery. Troubleshoot equipment issues and support reliable production through preventative and corrective maintenance. Use welding, fabrication, rigging, and mechanical skills to complete repairs and equipment improvements. Follow safety procedures, use required PPE, and work cooperatively with operations and maintenance team members. This position works Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. , with overtime required as necessary.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on industrial maintenance skills. Clean driver's license. Five years of industrial machine maintenance, repair, and fabrication experience in a manufacturing or production setting. Two years of professional welding experience. Vocational or technical training in a skilled trades field. New York State Plant Maintenance Mechanic Certification.
