Junior Electrician Job Description We are seeking a Junior Electrician with at least two years of experience in commercial medical suites. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in electrical work, particularly in roughing in with type M/C cables, using laser levels, and installing deep 1900 boxes on steel studs. You will be responsible for safe electrical demolition, temporary lighting, and power setup, as well as setting up wire from distribution panels and installing circuits accurately. Responsibilities Perform neat and clean roughing in of commercial medical suites using type M/C cables. Use laser levels to install deep 1900 boxes for switches, sensors, and outlets. Conduct safe electrical demolition, temporary lighting, and power setups as directed. Set up and install lighting (277volt) emergency circuits and regular lighting/power branch circuits. Install wiring from distribution panels to junction locations over distances of 150 feet. Connect wires safely using wire nuts, ensuring no cross connections. Communicate with foreman about job progress to ensure smooth transitions. Install gem boxes in closed wall construction without damaging sheet rock. Snake M/C cable through walls and into junction boxes without damaging drywall. Install additional 1900 boxes in ceilings for power pack or sensor controls. Trace circuits back to panels using or without current tracers. Bend ¾ EMT for low voltage openings. Affix beam clamps and panels securely as directed. Use A-frame ladders safely and operate scissor lifts when needed. Perform trim work and install 35 to 45 devices daily without damage. Install and wire fixtures without leaving marks or causing damage. Maintain proper hand tools, including Milwaukee drill and impact drill. Adhere to safety standards, including wearing safety glasses, vests, and hardhats. Travel to job sites in Nassau and Suffolk County with a personal vehicle. Observe punctuality and notify foreman of any absences. Sign into Electrical contractors sheet daily as directed. Essential Skills Electrical wiring and installation expertise. Experience with MC & BX rough-in and blueprint reading. Competency in installing 3-way switches, lighting, and medical cable wiring. Experience in retrofit, office fit-out, and electrical troubleshooting. Ability to run conduit, perform panel wiring, and work with low voltage systems. Proficiency in schematic understanding. Additional Skills & Qualifications OSHA 30 certification. Must have a vehicle and be willing to travel to Nassau and Suffolk jobsites. Why Work Here?
