Driver's License Driving Blueprint reading Full Job Description Blackmon-Farrell Electric is looking to hire an electrician to join our growing team. Reporting to our Rochester, NY or Hornell, NY office, the successful applicant will be responsible for installing and maintaining electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems on our commercial projects.

Job responsibilities:

Install and maintain electrical wiring, control, and lighting systems (e.g., switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels, other safety and distribution components) Inspect, repair, and replace electrical components and equipment such as wiring, fixtures, insulated cables, transformers, and circuit breakers Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals Adhere to all safety regulations and lock-out/tag-out procedures, as well as adhering to customer specific standards. Inspect, test, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical system issues, safety hazards, and malfunctions Follow the National Electrical Code, state and local building regulations, and safety procedures for every installation.

Qualifications and skills:

Successful completion of an electrician apprenticeship program or 5 years of commercial electrical experience. OSHA 10 required, OSHA 30 preferred Conduit bending (both power and hand bending) Conduit threading (both power and hand threading) Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation Good understanding of electrical theory Able to read and understand electrical drawings, diagrams, blueprints, and schematics Able to perform basic mathematical calculations Able to lift and carry 50+ pounds Able to sit, stand, kneel, climb, lift, and climb stairs and ladders Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Strong work ethic and positive attitude Can work independently and as part of a team environment The ideal candidate: Has the ability to think ahead and plan within timelines and resources; plan and schedule work; set priorities and goals; participate in problem solving and adjust work as required. Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills Is a strong team player Has the ability to manage a small crew, keeping everyone active and on task.
