Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.

Job Description:
Empire State University is seeking candidates for a full-time Trades Generalist to work in our Saratoga Springs location. The position will perform a wide range of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance, repair, and operational duties, while also providing on-shift coordination and support to custodial and facilities staff as needed. Duties of this position will include the following: Minor electrical repairs
Carpentry and wall repair
Plumbing adjustments and fixture repairs
Preventive maintenance on building systems
Equipment troubleshooting
Assist with facility setups and adjustments
Support snow removal and seasonal operations
Address urgent repair needs during active building hours
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services.
