Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Electrician to join our dynamic construction and electrical services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems within commercial environments, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and electrical codes. Duties Install, inspect, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in commercial buildings in accordance with local electrical codes and the National Electrical Code (NEC). Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to execute precise wiring layouts. Troubleshoot complex electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely on industrial and commercial sites. Conduct routine maintenance and upgrades on existing electrical infrastructure to ensure optimal performance. Adhere strictly to NFPA 70 compliance standards and electrical safety procedures during all phases of work. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment efficiently to complete installation and repair tasks. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople to ensure timely project completion. Document work performed accurately and update electrical schematics as needed for future reference. Assist in training or mentoring apprentices or junior electricians when required. Requirements Proven experience as a commercial electrician Demonstrated expertise in high-voltage wiring, low-voltage systems, and industrial electrical applications. Familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards and local electrical codes. Proficiency in reading electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams. Skilled in troubleshooting electrical systems using multimeters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and PLC programming tools. Experience working on construction sites involving renovation projects or new installations. Knowledge of electrical safety procedures and practices to prevent hazards during work. Ability to handle hand tools such as wire strippers, screwdrivers, pliers, as well as power tools safely. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently. Valid electrician's license or certification as required by local regulations. Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and clients.
