Job Description

General Purpose of Position :
To assist in maintaining all electrical components of the building and the surrounding properties. Would be expected to perform any maintenance outside of electrical (i.e., painting, cleaning, plumbing, etc.) that is required to keep up the daily operations of the building. Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions) : Duties/Responsibilities 1 Maintain, install, and repair building electrical systems and equipment 2 Install new conduits, wiring, switches, outlets, and electrical equipment to support changing facility operational needs 3 Conduct routine checks on building infrastructure, emergency backup systems, and lighting controls 4 Assist the broader facilities team with general campus maintenance to ensure all buildings remain fully functional 5 Execute all tasks in strict compliance with OSHA standards and local building regulations 6 Set up, monitor, and tear down temporary power distribution systems for special campus events and functions 7 Provide on-call or standby support to troubleshoot immediate power issues
Travel :
Position may require 5-10% travel
Work Shift :
This position works days. Some overtime and weekends may be required based on events schedule.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Journeyman electrician preferred Some plumbing and carpentry skills Excellent organization and multitasking skills Ability to operate heavy equipment (boom lifts, scissor lifts, etc.) Ability to manage small projects when assigned
Education and Experience :
High school diploma required 4-5 years electrical trade school preferred
Physical Demands and Work Environment :
Required to stand majority of the time. Required to walk, lift, and move up to 100 pounds. Must be able to use hands and fingers to operate controls/equipment/computer. Must have the ability to adjust focus for unplanned activities and other duties as assigned. The work is indoor and outdoor depending on the task at hand. The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to loud. Daily contact requires courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment.
