This position is responsible for installing, servicing, programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting a variety of low-voltage systems and structured cabling. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, basic computer and networking knowledge, and the ability to learn new systems quickly. Responsibilities Install, service, program, maintain, and troubleshoot low-voltage systems and cabling, including: Fire alarm systems, including addressable and conventional systems Burglar and security alarm systems Video surveillance systems, including IP and analog cameras Electronic access control systems Nurse call systems Audio/visual and paging systems Voice and data structured cabling Fiber optic cabling Phone systems Networking equipment Perform wiring, terminations, connections, equipment installation, and system commissioning. Troubleshoot newly installed systems to ensure proper operation and compliance with applicable local, county, state, and federal codes and requirements. Diagnose and repair existing low-voltage systems and equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, building plans, and system documentation. Use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and basic electrical equipment safely and properly. Apply basic electrical conduit, wiring, and installation practices. Maintain knowledge of basic networking equipment and IT systems. Perform PC setup, software installation, and basic technical troubleshooting as needed. Ensure all work is completed accurately, safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer and contractual requirements. Communicate professionally with customers, answer questions, and resolve concerns. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site. Follow OSHA standards, company safety procedures, and all applicable regulations. Complete required documentation and work records. Continue developing technical skills through hands-on experience and training. Take pride in your work and always leave the job site better than you found it. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. Previous low-voltage, electrical, telecommunications, security, fire alarm, networking, or related experience is preferred but not required. Basic understanding of electrical wiring and installation practices. Familiarity with basic conduit installation and electrical tools. Basic computer and IT knowledge. Ability to read blueprints, plans, and technical documentation. Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to learn new technology and systems quickly. Professional communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Valid driver's license may be required. Ability and willingness to work overtime when needed.
