An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.
Wiring electrical control panels efficiently in a high-volume production setting Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and B.O.M./drawings, engineering prints/specifications, and/or verbal/written instructions Responsible for laying out, machining, populating, and wiring of electrical control enclosures Assembly of mechanical, and/or pneumatic components as required. Use common hand tools, drills, taps, saws, knockout punches, and multi-meter. Verify work performed by checking continuity or simulated functional test to determine proper component circuitry that meets operational requirements May require the operation of a forklift, if so training will be provided
Requirements:
Must have experience using the skills mentioned above Experience in wiring electrical control panels, UL 508A experience is a plus. Read and interpret schematics and electrical specifications as required. Working knowledge of AC & DC control circuits, including single and three-phase motor control, PLC terminology/function, and basic knowledge of measuring instruments and meters. The ability to work with and understand electromechanical functionality Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations. Good interpersonal skills and ability to successfully handle a multi-tasked role in an organized fashion. Strong computer skills. Capable of working with all Microsoft Office applications Strong time management and organization skills.
