An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.

Electrician Instructor:
Curriculum/Core competencies and skills Experience in several of the following: Residential Systems, Commercial & Industrial Systems, Control Systems, AC/DC Power, Motors & Generators, Blueprints, Technical Mathematics Key Duties and Responsibilities EIT instructors focus on delivering instruction that leads to students' gaining proficiency in skill, knowledge, safety, attendance and professionalism within their field. The following are key responsibilities to achieve our academic mission and goals: Deliver a course of study suitable to curriculum guidelines of ACCSC and PA Department of Education's requirements.
Assist in developing and presenting specific lesson plans, using a variety of means, including lectures, lab projects, group discussions, exhibits and field trips related to the content being taught.
Supervise completion of assignments, activities, labs, tests, and homework.
Conduct tests and assessment in accordance with EIT policies.
Maintain order in classroom and administers discipline when necessary to achieve proper behavior.
Counsel and assist students when academic difficulties arise.
Keep records of academic performance, and attendance.
Communicate class progress and performance in the absence of the program director and/or other instructor
Participate in faculty meetings, educational conferences, professional training seminars, and workshops.
Additional duties as assigned. Education Must possess at least two of the following: At least three years work experience in specified field which is acceptable to the Director of Education.
Two years' teaching experience in specified field of instruction.
Baccalaureate degree with a major in the specific field of instruction for which the individual is being hired.
Journeyman's license relevant to the specified field of instruction;
Demonstrated competency in the specific field for which training is being offered; and/or
Vocational education certification in the specified field of instruction.
