Hertzler Electric, Inc. is a design build electrical contractor based out of Mount Joy, PA. We do work for both commercial and industrial customers. Our company has been serving its customers for over 35 years in the greater Lancaster area. We take pride in our work and strive to exceed our clients' expectations on every project. Our construction sites are located within 15 minutes to an hour of our shop location in Mount Joy. Overview Hertzler Electric is seeking a motivated and skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial/industrial construction and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards, building codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC), and project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from commercial installations to industrial systems, utilizing your technical knowledge and hands-on skills to deliver high-quality results. Responsibilities Install, wire, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and renovation settings using hand tools and power tools. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics to execute precise electrical installations. Work with low voltage and high voltage systems, ensuring proper connections and safety protocols are followed. Utilize testing equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues accurately and efficiently. Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in industrial automation processes. Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate electrical work with other trades. Follow all safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment on construction sites. Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues before they escalate. Assist in renovation projects by updating or replacing existing electrical infrastructure while adhering to NEC standards. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including schematics updates and inspection reports. Skills Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical codes and safety standards. Experience with running conduit/bends Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to electrical systems. Hands-on experience with low voltage wiring, high voltage systems, and troubleshooting using ohmmeters and other testing tools. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for industrial automation applications. Skilled in using hand tools such as wire strippers, pliers, screwdrivers, along with power tools for installation tasks. Construction site experience with the ability to work efficiently in dynamic environments while maintaining safety protocols. Knowledge of NEC regulations for residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations. Ability to perform renovation work involving electrical upgrades or modifications within existing structures. Experience reading schematics and working from detailed technical drawings or blueprints.
