Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Solar Electrician to join our dynamic renewable energy team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting photovoltaic (solar) systems across various commercial and residential sites. Your expertise will ensure that solar energy systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all electrical codes and safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of onshore renewable energy projects while working outdoors in diverse environments. Duties Install photovoltaic systems on rooftops and ground-mounted sites, ensuring proper wiring, fixture installation, and system integration Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to guide installation and troubleshooting processes Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot issues related to low voltage and high voltage systems using voltmeters, power tools, and hand tools Follow electrical safety procedures in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and NEC standards to maintain a safe work environment Use ladder equipment safely when working at heights on roofing or elevated structures during system installation or maintenance Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on existing solar systems to maximize performance Collaborate with construction teams on site to ensure seamless integration of electrical components within the overall project scope Requirements Proven experience as a commercial electrician with a strong background in electrical work, blueprint reading, and schematic interpretation Hands-on experience working as a solar technician or in photovoltaic system installation within the renewable energy sector Knowledge of electrical codes including NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and NEC compliance standards for high voltage and low voltage systems Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as voltmeters and multimeters Construction site experience with outdoor work environments, roofing, and working at heights using ladders safely Familiarity with electrical safety procedures specific to outdoor renewable energy projects Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly and accurately under pressure Valid construction or electrician license preferred; additional certifications in photovoltaic systems or renewable energy are a plus Join us in advancing clean energy solutions!
