DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position performs skilled electrical work on a wide range of systems, devices, and equipment across the hospital campus. It ensures that essential electrical operations remain safe, dependable, and fully functional. As an Electrician 1, you will perform the following duties:

Electrical Installation:

Install conduits, wiring, fittings, fixtures, motors, controls, and related equipment for campus systems

System Maintenance:

Perform testing, repairs, and preventive checks on generators, motors, and electrical devices

Safety Compliance:

Work on energized systems while following strict safety rules, precautions, and approved procedures

Troubleshooting Work:

Diagnose electrical failures using drawings, schematics, and specialized testing tools

Technical Calculations:

Perform accurate voltage drop calculations, load assessments, and determine proper circuit protection and wiring

Equipment Operation:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Successful completion of the Electrician Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, components, and equipment; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
