Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of electrical systems across commercial and industrial settings. Your expertise will ensure compliance with all safety standards and electrical codes, contributing to safe and efficient operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from new construction to renovations, utilizing your technical skills and problem-solving abilities to deliver top-quality electrical solutions. Responsibilities Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments, ensuring adherence to local electrical codes and NFPA 70 standards. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring and system installations. Perform high-voltage electrical wiring and low-voltage system work safely and efficiently on various construction sites or renovation projects. Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot complex electrical systems to identify root causes quickly. Install and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation components integral to industrial electrical systems. Follow all electrical safety procedures diligently, including proper use of hand tools, power tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while maintaining high standards of quality and safety compliance. Requirements Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification with proven experience in industrial and commercial electrical work. Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC (National Electrical Code), local electrical codes, and safety procedures. Demonstrated experience with industrial electrical systems, high-voltage wiring, troubleshooting electrical systems, reading blueprints, and interpreting electrical schematics. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment essential for electrical diagnostics. Strong background in construction site experience with a focus on renovation projects or new builds within commercial or industrial settings. Ability to read electrical blueprints accurately and implement wiring plans accordingly. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, high voltage wiring, and automation controls is highly desirable. Excellent troubleshooting skills combined with a proactive approach to resolving complex electrical issues efficiently. Commitment to safety standards including NFPA 70 compliance; previous experience working on construction sites is preferred.
