Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maryland Licensed Journeyperson Electrician specializing in Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems to join our dynamic renewable energy team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar PV systems on commercial and residential sites, ensuring all work complies with electrical safety standards and industry codes. Your expertise will help drive the transition to clean energy solutions while delivering exceptional service to our clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors on innovative projects that make a tangible impact on sustainable energy development. Responsibilities Install photovoltaic system components including inverters, wiring, fixtures, and mounting hardware according to blueprints and schematics Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to execute precise installations Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting on complex solar PV systems using voltmeters, multimeters, and other hand tools Ensure all work adheres to National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70 standards, and electrical safety procedures Perform high voltage and low voltage wiring tasks safely on outdoor construction sites with an emphasis on NFPA 70 compliance Use ladders, scaffolding, and roofing techniques to access installation areas safely and efficiently Diagnose system faults, perform repairs, and conduct routine maintenance to optimize system performance Collaborate with construction teams on site preparation, roofing integration, and other related construction activities Maintain detailed documentation of installation processes, inspections, and troubleshooting procedures for quality assurance Experience Valid Maryland Journeyperson Electrician license with proven experience in commercial electrical work Demonstrated experience working as a solar technician or in photovoltaic system installation projects Strong knowledge of electrical blueprint reading, schematics, and blueprint interpretation skills Hands-on experience with photovoltaic systems including inverter setup, fixture installation, wiring configurations, and troubleshooting electrical issues Familiarity with high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems within renewable energy projects Construction site experience with outdoor work environments including roofing and working at heights Proficiency using power tools such as drills, wire strippers, voltmeters, multimeters, and hand tools for electrical work Knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards related to solar PV installations and general electrical safety procedures Ability to read technical schematics accurately and perform electrical diagnostics efficiently Experience working in onshore renewable energy projects with a focus on safety compliance and quality workmanship Join us in advancing sustainable energy solutions!
