Job Summary We are seeking a motivated Helper Elevator Technician to join our dynamic team dedicated to maintaining and repairing elevator systems. In this entry-level role, you will assist experienced technicians in performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on various elevator and escalator systems. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop technical skills in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems while gaining hands-on experience in the field of elevator service. Your proactive attitude and willingness to learn will contribute significantly to ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant elevator operations across diverse building environments. Responsibilities Transport, set up, and hand over tools and heavy parts to lead elevator technician Clean and prep work areas, including machine rooms, pits, and elevator cars Hold or position components during assembly and perform basic maintenance like cleaning and lubricating moving parts Follow strict safety codes, wear required protective gear, and keep the work site safe Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctions in elevator systems Assist in minor repairs Assist in following blueprints and manufacturer specifications Respond promptly to requests by Lead Elevator Technician so that elevator repairs can be resolved ina timely and efficient manner Maintain accurate and honest records of all documentation and service tickets Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry standards and new technologies Experience High school diploma or equivalent, Graduate of Trade or Tech school is A Plus Basic mechanical knowledge with familiarity in using hand tools and understanding mechanical systems repair Some experience reading electrical schematics, technical drawings, or engineering troubleshooting documents preferred Exposure to electrical work or industrial maintenance is advantageous Prior experience in field service or industrial mechanic roles is a plus but not required; we value eagerness to learn and a proactive approach Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients Knowledge of building code compliance of related to elevator systems is beneficial but training will be provided Previous experience working with hydraulics, electrical systems, or elevator maintenance is desirable but not mandatory Ability to lift 50-75 lb, work on ladders, in confined spaces and machines rooms is a must!
