Job Description
A local manufacturing firm in Spartanburg, SC, is looking for a skilled Electrical and Instrumentation - General Mechanic to join their team. We are seeking a driven professional who excels in dynamic, high-pressure settings and possesses the organizational talent necessary to manage multiple priorities effectively. Key Duties and Expectations At least 3 years of hands-on industrial electrical maintenance experience. Strong analytical capabilities to resolve complex technical issues. Proficiency in interpreting technical sketches, diagrams, and blueprints. Ability to perform precise mathematical calculations and utilize electrical testing instruments. Safely manage and maintain high-voltage electrical machinery. Competency in operating power tools, hand tools, and specialized electrical measurement devices. Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills to identify the root cause of equipment failures and ensure operational continuity. Perform bench-level repairs and rebuilds for various valves and instrumentation parts. Execute necessary repairs on plant equipment and machinery to keep operations running smoothly. Maintain a consistent employment record with a strong commitment to workplace safety standards. Proficiency in computer software, specifically MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving history. Desired Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance. Extensive background working with AC/DC drive configurations. Practical experience maintaining instrumentation systems like ammeters. Understanding of industry-standard maintenance protocols. Familiarity with SAP maintenance software modules. Knowledge regarding maintenance planning and scheduling workflows. Experience operating and servicing high and low-voltage power distribution hardware. An Associate degree in an electrical-related discipline. Physical Demands Capable of meeting all physical requirements and environmental conditions required for the role, with or without reasonable accommodation. Comfortable working at heights up to 20 feet, navigating tight or narrow crawl spaces, and operating in dimly lit or high-temperature environments. Willingness to utilize required personal protective equipment, including respirators, face shields, FRC, and safety harnesses. Ability to remain on your feet and walk across various hard surfaces such as steel, concrete, or wood. Capacity to lift, carry, push, or pull loads weighing up to 100 pounds.
