We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our Manufacturing Maintenance team in Sumter, South Carolina . Are you the technician people rely on when electrical equipment fails, a control system begins behaving unpredictably, or production needs to get back online safely? About the Role This position supports the safe and reliable electrical operation of plant equipment in a heavy industrial environment. The successful candidate will combine hands-on electrical maintenance, controls troubleshooting, testing, calibration, and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and keep production running safely. What You'll Do Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical control systems and solid-state equipment Assemble and modify electrical and electronic systems using technical information, hand tools, and measuring instruments Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate electrical components, assemblies, and systems Build, calibrate, maintain, and repair electrical instruments and testing equipment Analyze test results and equipment performance to identify electrical problems and recommend corrective actions Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities Conduct inspections, document findings, and recommend improvements Review electrical technical information and identify necessary revisions Follow all applicable safety procedures Keep the electrical shop, tools, and equipment in proper working condition Work effectively with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, and other departments What We're Looking For Required Qualifications At least three years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment Experience troubleshooting AC and DC circuits, sensors, electrical controls, and variable-frequency drives Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Experience using instrumentation, test equipment, and electrical measuring tools Ability to interpret technical information and determine the causes of equipment failures Dependable, safety-focused approach to plant maintenance Ability to work effectively across departments Preferred Qualifications Technical diploma or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or a related field Experience with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs OSHA 30 certification Journeyman Electrician certification or another recognized electrical credential Work Environment and Schedule This position works in an active industrial production environment and may involve exposure to noise, heat, cold, and moving machinery.
Candidates must be able to:
Lift up to 50 pounds Stand for extended periods Climb ladders and work in confined spaces as needed Work overtime and weekends when required Participate in an on-call rotation Why Join
