The Position We are looking for a skilled and licensed Electrical Journeyman to join our team. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity—not a contractor or per diem position—with the opportunity to grow alongside a supportive, team-focused company.

You will work on a variety of equipment and systems, including pumps, motors, motor controls, control panels, VFDs, PLCs, process instrumentation, and power distribution equipment. This position involves both in-shop work and local customer or project-site support. You will work closely with fabricators, engineers, and other team members to assemble, install, test, and troubleshoot custom pump and control systems and help train less experienced technicians. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair a variety of electrical and electronic systems, including PLCs, VFDs, process instrumentation, pumps, motor controls, control panels, and power distribution systems. Install and wire industrial electrical systems, control panels, and related equipment. Run and install conduit, including EMT, rigid, PVC, and flexible conduit. Assist with equipment installation, testing, start-up, and commissioning both in-house and at local customer or project sites. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and system layouts. Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues and identify effective solutions. Install lighting, disconnects, circuit breakers, panels, switches, and other electrical components. Properly size and select components such as wire, conduit, switches, circuit breakers, disconnects, and electrical panels. Test and verify safe and proper operation of electrical and control systems. Provide technical support to customers and team members in person, over the phone, and on-site as needed. Collaborate with engineers and other team members on custom pump station and control system projects and to ensure accurate system documentation. Assist with the design and production of electrical schematics and Bills of Materials. Follow all applicable electrical codes, safety procedures, and company policies. Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the team and company operations. What We're Looking For Active Journeyman Electrician License required. 3+ years of experience with electrical installation, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial, commercial, or related systems and equipment. Strong understanding of electrical schematics, blueprints, P&IDs, and system layouts. Experience with electrical installation, wiring, troubleshooting, and conduit installation. Experience working with industrial control systems, pumps, motors, motor controls, or control panels preferred. Experience with VFDs, PLCs, process instrumentation, and power distribution systems preferred. Familiarity with instrumentation calibration and configuration is a plus. PLC programming and SCADA experience are a plus. Ability to work safely, independently, and as part of a team. Leadership/Mentorship experience a plus. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Valid Driver's License and ability to meet company driving requirements. Must pass a criminal background check. Must adhere to Dakota Pump's Drug-Free Workplace policy. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Regularly lift up to 50 pounds. Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and overhead work. Regular use of hands and arms while performing electrical installation and repair work. Work primarily in a heated indoor shop environment. Occasional work at local customer or project sites. Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions when required. Overtime may be required based on project and customer needs.
