You'll represent Choate's professionally, explain electrical concerns clearly, provide appropriate repair or replacement options, and deliver safe, code-compliant solutions with exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong residential electrical background. Experience servicing and installing standby generators, current generator certifications, and commercial electrical service diagnostic experience are highly preferred. Required Qualifications Minimum 1 year of residential electrical service experience High school diploma or GED Valid and insurable driver's license Ability to pass a background check Ability to comply with a drug-free workplace policy Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and safe work practices Ability to diagnose common residential electrical problems Ability to use electrical testing and diagnostic equipment safely Must provide required hand tools Ability to obtain or maintain any license or registration required for the position and jurisdiction Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of residential electrical service experience Experience servicing, troubleshooting, and installing standby generators Current generator manufacturer certification Experience with generator transfer switches, load-management systems, and startup procedures Commercial electrical service and diagnostic experience Experience troubleshooting panels, circuits, controls, motors, lighting systems, and three-phase equipment Experience with electrical panel replacements and service upgrades Familiarity with surge protection, EV chargers, dedicated circuits, and home electrical safety inspections ServiceTitan experience Applicable state or local electrical license, certification, or registration What You'll Do Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential electrical systems Troubleshoot electrical panels, breakers, circuits, receptacles, switches, fixtures, and related equipment Perform residential electrical safety inspections Install and replace electrical devices, fixtures, circuits, panels, and other approved equipment Service, diagnose, and install standby generators based on training, certification, and company requirements Troubleshoot transfer switches and generator-related electrical controls Assist with commercial electrical service diagnostics when needed Communicate professionally with homeowners and other customers Explain findings and provide clear repair or replacement options Create accurate estimates and proposals Recommend maintenance, safety improvements, and system upgrades when appropriate Complete work in accordance with applicable electrical codes, manufacturer requirements, permitting rules, and company safety procedures Document inspections, diagnostics, recommendations, and completed work using ServiceTitan Maintain an organized company vehicle and properly care for tools and equipment Participate in team meetings, technical training, and manufacturer training Meet performance, safety, quality, and customer-service goals Work collaboratively with dispatchers, managers, installers, and other technicians What We're Looking For Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills A safety-first approach Strong verbal and written communication skills Professional appearance and attitude Dependable and punctual Organized and detail-oriented Able to explain technical information in a way customers can understand Comfortable presenting repair and replacement options without high-pressure tactics Positive, team-first mindset Goal-driven with a desire to succeed Willingness to continue learning through technical and manufacturer training Schedule Choose the schedule option that best fits your lifestyle: Option 1: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a rotating on-call schedule Option 2: Monday through Friday, 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a rotating on-call schedule Option 3: Four-day work week, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, including one Saturday shift, with no on-call requirement Overtime opportunities are available. Seasonal demand and emergency service needs may require additional hours. Physical Requirements/ADA Applicant must be able to ascend and descend ladders. Applicant must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, unassisted. Work will be performed both in a comfortable indoor facility and outside in the elements. Applicant will experience some interruptions and occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than his/her immediate supervisor. The position frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands, standing, walking, reaching, crawling, climbing stairs and ladders, talking, hearing, staring at computer screens and typing.
