Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Apprentice to join our dynamic construction and electrical services team. This paid apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity to develop foundational skills in electrical installation, maintenance, and repair across various project sites. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, safety-conscious, and possess a strong interest in advancing their career within the electrical trade. As an Electrical Apprentice, you will work under the supervision of experienced electricians to gain practical experience in both residential and commercial electrical systems, ensuring adherence to safety standards and technical specifications. Duties Assist senior electricians with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems on construction sites and commercial projects. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to support accurate wiring and component placement. Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, and measuring devices to perform electrical tasks efficiently. Operate power tools safely to facilitate conduit bending, drilling, and other installation procedures. Support the installation of low voltage systems including data cabling, security systems, and communication networks. Learn to use testing equipment such as ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical circuits and verifying continuity. Participate in site safety protocols, including proper handling of high voltage and low voltage electrical components. Assist with framing carpentry tasks related to electrical installations where necessary. Maintain organized work areas and document work progress for project records. Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and according to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or coursework in electrical technology is preferred. Interest or experience in industrial or commercial electrician work is highly desirable. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, schematics, blueprints reading, and basic electrical concepts. Knowledge of low voltage systems, high voltage safety procedures, and NEC standards is a plus. Experience working on construction sites or in construction environments is advantageous. Ability to operate testing devices such as ohmmeters confidently for troubleshooting purposes. Strong attention to detail with good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards learning new skills. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
