An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.

Job Description
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED Diagnostic and repair skills for complex problems in Electrical distribution systems Capable of installing, troubleshooting, and repairing overhead and underground electrical distribution systems. Understanding of electrical theory and transformer wiring configurations. Knowledgeable of NEC and OSHA standards. Able to safely supervise electrical contract work Able to effectively interface with electrical engineers and energy providers Able to perform preventive maintenance on high voltage electrical equipment. Able to proficiently and safely operate bucket trucks as well as other powerline equipment. Good computer skills Team oriented, flexible, and able to work with minimal supervision. Additional Desired Qualifications Minimum Journeyman lineman license or equivalent work experience 3-5 years oilfield experience preferred, with a responsible attitude for personal safety and the safety of co-workers, contractors & the public Electrically qualified perOSHA 1910.269
