An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.

At Valero, this role performs duties that support our commitment to advancing the future of energy through innovation, ingenuity, and unmatched execution, including: Repairs, maintains, and installs electrical systems and equipment following all safety procedures, electrical codes, manuals, schematic drawings, diagrams, and blueprints. Demonstrates knowledge of basic grounding and shielding, electricity, and electrical wiring and raceway systems. Uses basic electrical meters and equipment to test equipment. Maintains and repairs various types of electrical components. Performs work activities in a safe and environmentally sound manner. This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required. A minimum of 2 years electrical experience as an Electrician or a technical degree in an electrical field is required.
