Job Description

Responsibilities Maintain safe work environment. Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance of LMFs, VTDs, Caster, Mold Segment Shop, and related equipment. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues for LMFs, VTDs, Caster, Mold Segment Shop, and related equipment. Identify, design, and implement changes/upgrades which will increase the productivity or reliability of the process. Understand the steel making process and integrate this knowledge to improve productivity, quality, and reliability. Knowledge of medium and low voltage electrical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, breakers and power distribution systems, motors, motor control equipment, instrumentation, PLCs and VFDs. Perform electrical and mechanical tasks requested by crew, supervisor, or management that ensure uninterrupted operations.
Qualifications Required:
Safety Oriented High School diploma or equivalent Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge Strong willingness to learn Willingness to work scheduled and non-scheduled overtime Strong teamwork focus Ability to work without direct supervision Ability to multi-task & prioritize work assignments with production needs Steel Dynamics Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
