Duties Install, inspect, and repair residential electrical systems including wiring, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and panels in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards. Read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics to accurately execute wiring layouts and system configurations. Troubleshoot complex electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters, ensuring quick resolution of system faults. Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely on residential or light commercial projects, adhering strictly to electrical safety procedures. Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or code violations, implementing corrective actions promptly. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure project specifications are met efficiently and effectively. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection reports and compliance documentation, to ensure traceability and accountability. Requirements Valid Journeyman Electrician license with proven experience in residential electrical work. Demonstrated industrial electrician experience is a plus; familiarity with commercial systems is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC (National Electrical Code), local electrical codes, and safety procedures. Proficiency in reading electrical blueprints, schematics, and blueprints reading tools for accurate installation and troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting electrical systems, low voltage wiring, lighting control systems, and high-voltage wiring. Skilled in the use of hand tools such as wire strippers, pliers, screwdrivers; power tools including drills and saws; testing equipment like ohmmeters. Construction site experience with renovation projects or new builds; familiarity with framing carpentry or handyman skills is advantageous. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining high safety standards.
