An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.
Overview B. Jackson Construction has a job opening for a Journeyman Electrician, who will coordinate and perform all activities related to the management, project oversight, onsite quality assurance and quality control, including scheduling and overseeing all assigned field personnel, to complete work per contract terms, in the safest and most cost effective manner possible Responsibilities Execute, track and report all activities related to assigned projects Maintain blue staking or one call data, and required permits Complete as-built data (each day) and report completed production to the Field Superintendent for invoicing purposes Track all rental equipment and returns Labor, equipment and materials record keeping Oversee and record site specific safety plans and project hazard analysis as required by a variety of clients on specific projects Report all accidents including personal injury, vehicle, equipment, foreign utility damages or any other accident that may occur and pose risk known or potential to the company Train and mentor electrical apprentices, and guide them through the apprenticeship program Communicate in a professional manner
Qualifications Education:
High school graduate or equivalent with 2 years of experience under a current Utah Journeyman's license, and some college courses (preferred), OSHA 10 training, MUTCD training, traffic control training, trench shoring training, CPR training, First Aid training, confined space training and motor vehicle training Must have the physical and mental ability to complete work according to project schedules, and have the ability to speak, read and write in English, as well as be able to interpret blueprints, plans, project hazard analysis forms, instructions, manuals and any other general company or specific project related safety documents Pass a pre-hire drug screen and have a valid driver license with a clean record Join our team if you're passionate about leading impactful projects while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality!
