Job Description

Temporary Licensed Industrial Electrician - HVAC and Facility Maintenance ABM Industries is seeking a Temporary Licensed Industrial Electrician to support a manufacturing facility in Dublin, Virginia. The primary focus of this position is electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. The selected candidate must also have HVAC competency and be willing to support general facility maintenance. Universal EPA Section 608 certification is strongly preferred.
Position Details:
Temporary assignment expected to last approximately 6-8 weeks, with the potential to become permanent
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 3:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. Overtime may be required based on operational needs Pay range: $36.90-$39.80 per hour
Essential Functions:
Inspect, install, troubleshoot, repair, modify, and maintain electrical systems, circuits, controls, and equipment. Diagnose electrical system and equipment failures using meters, testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools. Connect wiring to circuit breakers, transformers, motors, controls, and other components. Read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, sketches, repair manuals, and schematics. Apply a thorough working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and applicable safety requirements. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility equipment and building systems. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance issues. Inspect equipment and systems to identify unsafe conditions, deficiencies, and potential failures. Diagnose equipment problems and determine the appropriate repair method or need for specialized support. Support HVAC maintenance, including filter changes, belt replacements, inspections, basic troubleshooting, and minor repairs. Troubleshoot HVAC electrical components and controls, including motors, contactors, relays, thermostats, and control circuits. Perform basic plumbing repairs involving fixtures, valves, piping, drains, and water systems. Repair doors, locks, hardware, walls, ceilings, flooring, and other facility components. Respond promptly to service requests and urgent facility needs. Complete assigned work orders accurately, documenting labor, materials, findings, and completed work. Coordinate with site leadership, vendors, and other technicians when specialized support is required. Maintain clean, organized, and safe mechanical rooms, shops, and work areas. Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, personal protective equipment, fall protection, and electrical safety requirements. Work safely at elevated heights using ladders, scissor lifts, and boom lifts. Participate in safety meetings, training, inspections, and continuous-improvement activities. Support shutdowns, special projects, equipment installations, and other operational needs. Perform additional duties consistent with the position.
Required Qualifications:
Current Journeyman or Master Electrician license valid in Virginia High school diploma or GED Three to five years of commercial or industrial electrical maintenance experience Strong electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair skills Working knowledge of HVAC systems, components, controls, and maintenance practices General mechanical, plumbing, and building maintenance capabilities Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety precautions Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment, hand tools, power tools, ladders, and lifts Ability to work safely at elevated heights Authorization to work in the
United States Preferred Qualification:
Universal EPA Section 608 certification
