Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic electrical team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing complex electrical systems across various commercial and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in industrial and commercial electrical work, demonstrating proficiency in electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting, and adherence to safety standards. As a key contributor to our projects, you will ensure electrical systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all relevant codes and regulations. Duties Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments, ensuring compliance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to accurately execute installation and maintenance tasks. Perform high-voltage electrical wiring and connections safely on construction sites or existing facilities. Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters to identify faults or system inefficiencies. Maintain and repair industrial motor control equipment, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and other automation components. Execute electrical systems installation including low voltage systems, motor control circuits, and high-voltage wiring while adhering to electrical building codes. Conduct routine electrical maintenance on machinery and infrastructure to prevent failures and extend equipment lifespan. Follow strict electrical safety procedures during all phases of work to protect oneself and colleagues from hazards. Read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics accurately for precise installation or troubleshooting. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment efficiently to complete tasks within project timelines. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution. Document work performed thoroughly for recordkeeping, compliance audits, or future reference. Skills Proven experience as an industrial electrician with a strong background in commercial electrical systems. Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) compliance requirements. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics using voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and other testing devices. Skilled in high-voltage wiring techniques for industrial applications. Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) programming and troubleshooting. Ability to read complex electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals accurately. Familiarity with motor control equipment maintenance and repair procedures. Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures applicable to construction sites and industrial environments. Competence in installing low voltage systems alongside high voltage installations. Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) standards governing all aspects of electrical work. Ability to perform precise measurements using tools such as multimeters and ammeters for troubleshooting purposes. Experience working on construction sites with adherence to safety protocols at all times. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance challenges. $35.00 - $55.00 per hour
