typically 2:30 PM-11:00 PM | 40+ hours/week CBC is recruiting an Industrial Electrical Technician / Electrician for an established Richmond-area manufacturer. The role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical systems, production machinery, and facility electrical infrastructure. This position is best suited to someone with strong industrial electrical fundamentals who can also work effectively in a multi-craft production-support environment. What You Will Do
- Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical equipment and systems serving production machinery and plant facilities.
- Diagnose electrical faults involving motors, starters, contactors, relays, transformers, circuit protection, disconnects, power supplies, heating circuits, and related components.
- Troubleshoot single-phase and three-phase electrical systems, motor circuits, and power distribution equipment.
- Use electrical test equipment safely, including multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation-resistance testers.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, equipment manuals, and work orders.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues associated with PLC-controlled equipment, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and machine-safety circuits.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance and document repairs, wiring changes, test results, and component replacements.
- Support root-cause failure analysis, contractor coordination, and cross-training into related mechanical work as needed. What We Are Looking For
- Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting and repair skills in a manufacturing, industrial, or commercial environment.
- Working knowledge of AC/DC circuits, single-phase and three-phase power, motors, motor controls, and electrical distribution.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel drawings, and equipment documentation.
- Basic familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment, HMIs, VFDs, industrial sensors, and machine-safety devices.
- High school diploma/GED plus an electrical apprenticeship, technical program, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work in an industrial environment. Preferred Experience
- Journeyman Electrician license or recognized industrial electrical credential.
NFPA 70E
training and industrial National Electrical Code experience.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, Rockwell, or Siemens controls equipment.
- PLC troubleshooting or programming experience.
- AutoCAD Electrical or
SOLIDWORKS

- Day shift: start time is typically between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM.
- Night shift: typically 2:30 PM-11:00 PM.
- Employees are expected to work at least 40 hours per week.
- Approximately one Saturday per month is expected for technician roles, with additional Saturdays possible based on business needs.
- Technicians remain on call to support employees scheduled in the facility and are eligible for overtime pay.
- Temporary schedule changes may be required to cover teammate PTO or support critical equipment needs. Compensation & Benefits
- Day shift: $32
- 36/hour, based on experience, plus an annual bonus at company discretion.
- Night shift: $32
- 36/hour, based on experience, plus a guaranteed $1.25/hour shift differential while assigned to the night shift. The differential increases to $2.00/hour after two years.
- Overtime eligible.
