$25-35/hr Brooksource is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to oversee the operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical infrastructure within our client's Data Centers (DC). As a key member of the Engineering and Facilities team, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the world-class mechanical and electrical infrastructure, ensuring facility operations, and implementing safety procedures. Responsibilities Uphold and promote the highest safety standards, fostering a world-class safety culture. Collaborate with other teams to address safety risks/issues and take ownership of safety initiatives and projects. Demonstrate operational expertise in electrical and mechanical equipment, including UPS's, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, ATS's, Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC, Exhaust Fans, VFD's, and Transformers. Troubleshoot events within internal SLAs and work varying shifts (morning, late, and night). Conduct routine rounds/log-taking for operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment. Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance. Respond to off-duty emergency calls on an on-call rotation basis. Lift/move objects/materials within regulatory weight limits and work in outdoor weather conditions occasionally. Qualifications Hands-on experience performing preventative maintenance (PM), troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of mission-critical electrical and mechanical data center equipment. Operational knowledge of three-phase electrical systems, including switchgear, UPS units, PDUs, and wet cell batteries and associated systems. Experience with stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems. Familiarity with mechanical systems such as CRAHU units, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, water systems, air handlers, pumps, and motors. Exposure to fire/life safety equipment, building automation systems, and general facilities equipment. Ability to monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS) and interpret equipment readings during rounds and events. Technical writing skills to support a formal change management program. Willingness to work a rotating 12.5-hour shift schedule that may include nights, weekends, and on-call rotations, and to support more than one site as needed. Physical Requirements Willingness and demonstrated ability to work in the following physical conditions, with reasonable accommodations: Regularly lift and/or move up to 39 pounds independently. Participate in group lifts for 40+ pounds. Maintain balance and perform construction tasks while on a ladder. Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb stairs, twist, bend, work above shoulders, grasp, carry, and push and pull objects into position. Work in an environment requiring provided ear protection. Shift Details Shifts are 12.5 hours long (5:30 AM/PM- 6:30 AM/PM). Days are 3 on / 4 off, 4 on / 3 off. For example, you could work Sunday
- Tuesday, be off Wednesday
- Saturday, then work Sunday
- Wednesday and be off Thursday
- Saturday.
