Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Residential Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in residential settings. Your expertise will ensure safe, efficient, and compliant electrical work that meets all local codes and industry standards. Duties Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair residential electrical systems including wiring, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and panels. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to execute precise installations. Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70 standards, and local electrical codes. Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely on construction sites or during renovation projects. Diagnose electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot complex systems like programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage circuits. Adhere strictly to electrical safety procedures to prevent hazards during installation and maintenance activities. Utilize hand tools and power tools efficiently for cutting, bending, wiring, and mounting electrical components. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining quality standards. Experience Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in residential electrical work. Demonstrated expertise in industrial and commercial electrician tasks is highly desirable. Hands-on experience reading electrical schematics and blueprints with precision. Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, high-voltage wiring, and low-voltage applications. Familiarity with NFPA 70 compliance requirements and NEC regulations for safe electrical practices. Skilled in troubleshooting complex electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters. Construction site experience including framing carpentry or handyman skills is a plus for versatile project support. Ability to work independently or as part of a team on renovation projects or new construction sites while adhering to safety protocols.
