Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.

Position Objective:
The Electrician is responsible for wiring, assembly, testing and installing electrical components in trucks and trailers.
Job Requirements and Primary Responsibilities:
Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences. Install and/or mount electrical components in trucks or trailers. Apply AC and DC wiring per industry codes. Terminate cables, troubleshoot electrical circuits, layout panels, drill and tap holes and route cables back to junction boxes or panels. Re-work, relocate, add or delete items to components. Perform basic motor and transformer wiring. Perform basic mechanical functions. Accurately account for materials per processes and procedures.
Required Skills:
Requires good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with other employees. Mathematical skills. Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, etc.
Required Experience and Education:
Requires education generally equivalent to a High School Diploma, plus some specialized training. Requires one to three years manufacturing experience. Preferred Qualifications Three to five years electrician experience in a job shop environment
Physical Requirements:
Pass a 7-panel pre-employment drug screen. Required to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and will regularly lift up to 25 pounds, such as making electrical panel installations. The employee is required to walk and stand constantly, sit, use foot/feet to operate machine, climb steps or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach above shoulders. Will regularly talk and listen and move from place to place and will frequently use hands to finger, handle or touch.
