Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Residential & Light Commercial Electrician to join our dynamic team, dedicated to installing, maintaining, and enhancing electrical systems for residential homes and light commercial properties. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of electrical systems while ensuring safety and compliance with all applicable codes and standards. Your expertise will help deliver high-quality electrical solutions while providing exceptional service to our customers. Duties Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, circuits, and systems in residential homes and light commercial buildings. Perform service upgrades, panel replacements, circuit additions, lighting installations, receptacle and switch replacements, ceiling fan installations, EV charger installations, generator hookups, and other electrical improvements. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately complete installations and service work. Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as multimeters, circuit tracers, and testers to identify faults and determine effective solutions. Ensure all work complies with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC requirements, local electrical codes, and company safety procedures. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot low-voltage systems, lighting controls, and other residential and light commercial electrical equipment. Safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and testing equipment to complete projects efficiently and professionally. Communicate with homeowners, contractors, and project managers to explain work performed and recommend solutions when needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site while representing the company with professionalism and integrity. Requirements Proven experience as an electrician with a focus on residential and/or light commercial electrical systems. Strong knowledge of
NFPA 70, NEC
standards, and local electrical codes. Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics. Hands-on experience with service work, remodels, new construction, panel upgrades, branch circuit installation, and troubleshooting. Proficiency using electrical diagnostic tools including multimeters, circuit testers, and other standard electrical testing equipment. Familiarity with residential service equipment, grounding and bonding, GFCI/AFCI protection, and modern electrical systems. Knowledge of electrical safety procedures, including lockout/tagout practices and safe work methods. Excellent troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders, in attics, crawl spaces, and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
