Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and dependable Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong construction knowledge, excellent plan-reading skills, and hands-on experience using Estimating Edge (Edge System) for accurate material and labor takeoffs. This position requires someone who is organized, personable, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating with both General Contractors and Vendors . The right candidate will be able to manage multiple projects, solve problems as they arise, and stay on schedule from the estimating phase through project completion. Key Responsibilities Perform accurate material and quantity takeoffs using Estimating Edge (Edge System) Read, interpret, and understand commercial construction plans, specifications, details, and scopes of work Review bid documents and project requirements to identify materials, quantities, and potential issues Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial construction projects Communicate professionally with General Contractors, Vendors, suppliers, and other project contacts Request and compare vendor pricing and ensure estimates reflect current material and labor costs Identify discrepancies, missing information, and potential problems in plans or bid documents Work independently to research and resolve estimating questions and issues Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Maintain organized estimating records and project documentation Once a project is awarded, understand and follow the schedule of work and contractual requirements Communicate with the appropriate parties to help ensure projects remain on schedule Travel to and access various job sites, including high-security military/government facilities and non-secure commercial locations , when required Follow all required security, access, and site-specific procedures

Qualifications & Skills Required:

Proven experience in commercial construction estimating Strong ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications Experience using Estimating Edge / Edge System for takeoffs Strong understanding of construction materials, scopes, and estimating processes Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with General Contractors and Vendors Excellent organizational and time-management skills Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and deadlines Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision Professional and personable communication style Ability to access and work at high-security facilities as well as standard commercial construction sites Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who understands that successful estimating involves more than simply performing takeoffs. You should be comfortable asking questions, communicating with vendors and contractors, identifying potential problems before they become costly issues, and keeping projects moving according to the schedule established in the contract.
