Manufacturing Estimator

Prepares detailed manufacturing cost estimates for machining, welding, fabrication, assembly, and finishing projects by analyzing technical requirements, production methods, and supplier inputs. Job Requirements 3-5+ years of direct estimating experience in a manufacturing, machining, or welding environment Experience in CNC machining and welding Experience reviewing RFQs and preparing cost bids for fabrication projects Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, Bills of Materials, and technical specifications Strong understanding of CNC machining practices Strong understanding of GD&T Knowledge of fabrication materials Ability to evaluate production methods, machining cycle times, tooling requirements, and labor hours Experience using ERP or manufacturing software for quote generation Preferred Skills Experience estimating for aerospace, defense, or nuclear energy manufacturing Experience with metal fabrication, assembly, and finishing cost estimation Experience identifying outsourced processes and obtaining vendor quotes Experience with ERP systems such as Epicor or JobBOSS Experience comparing manufacturing approaches to determine cost-effective production methods Job Responsibilities Develop comprehensive cost estimates for machined parts, welding, metal fabrication, assembly, and finishing processes Review RFQs and generate detailed cost bids for fabrication projects Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, Bills of Materials, and specifications Evaluate production methods, CNC machining cycle times, tooling requirements, and labor hours Identify required outsourced processes, including finishing and materials, and obtain vendor quotes Use ERP or manufacturing software to generate and manage quotes Analyze blueprints and specifications to determine cost-effective manufacturing methods Coordinate with engineering, sales, and production teams during the estimating process
