In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately preparing cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with clients and subcontractors to develop competitive bids. Your expertise will help ensure project profitability while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. Duties Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to develop precise cost estimates using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam. Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs and analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs to produce comprehensive bids. Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to negotiate pricing and scope of work, ensuring alignment with project budgets and objectives. Prepare detailed bid proposals that clearly outline costs, timelines, and assumptions while adhering to company standards. Monitor ongoing projects for cost control opportunities and provide updates on budget status throughout the bidding process. Assist in contract negotiations by reviewing terms related to scope, pricing, and project deliverables. Support project management teams by providing accurate estimates that facilitate planning, scheduling, and resource allocation. Experience Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and site operations. Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar tools; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable. Solid knowledge of construction contracts, cost control techniques, and pricing strategies within the construction industry. Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to secure favorable terms. Hands-on construction site experience that provides insight into field operations and project execution. Familiarity with construction management principles including project scheduling, budgeting, and risk assessment. Excellent communication skills coupled with a detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy in all estimates.
