Full Job Description Company Description:
Swain Electric, Inc., a family owned commercial and industrial electrical contractor in the Arizona market is accepting applications for the position of Experienced Estimator. This is a hands-on role in the corporate office that will work directly with project managers and works with a team of 1-2 other estimators.
Responsibilities:
Works with Senior Estimator, PM's and other estimator(s) to maintain an on-going, prioritized bid-list. Prepares estimates by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements. Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information. Communicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects. Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Work with Senior Estimator to manage bid pricing from all vendors and subcontractors. Maintains cost data base by entering data and connecting to supplier databases. Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications. Establish and maintain working relationship with customers, vendors and subcontractors. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Participates in pre-construction hand-off process
Qualifications :
3+ years of estimating experience on commercial and/or industrial electrical construction projects Proficient in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office software Significant experience with electrical estimating software Ability to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates Strong understanding of construction processes Ability to organize data Detail oriented and the ability to review work product from the 30,000 ft level Strong analytical skills Effective written and oral communication skills
