Location:
This is an on-site opportunity in Alameda, CA, offering close collaboration with our estimating, operations, and field teams. Candidates must already be local to the Bay Area, as relocation assistance is not available.Note:
Candidates must have experience with both rigging and steel work. We are looking for someone who understands how this work comes together in the field and can apply that knowledge to accurate, practical estimating. Confidential Employer. Job Description Review construction plans, specifications, drawings, and bid opportunities to determine project scope and requirements. Develop detailed estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, rigging requirements, scheduling, and other project costs. Prepare competitive proposals and obtain pricing from vendors and subcontractors. Partner closely with field crews to evaluate manpower requirements, site access, sequencing, constructability, and execution strategies. Support procurement, cost tracking, project administration, and coordination after projects are awarded. Apply practical field knowledge to improve estimating accuracy and identify project risks before work begins. Help transition awarded work from estimating into successful field execution. Qualifications 3+ years of construction estimating experience preferred. Direct experience with rigging and steel work is required. Experience with steel erection, structural steel, machinery installation, miscellaneous metals, or related specialty construction is highly valued. Strong ability to read plans, specifications, drawings, and bid documents. Experience developing labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor estimates. Comfortable collaborating directly with field crews, vendors, subcontractors, and project teams. Local to the Alameda/Bay Area and able to work on-site.
