This role supports preconstruction efforts by analyzing project requirements, developing detailed budgets, and coordinating with internal teams and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery. The Estimator plays a critical role in evaluating project risks, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and supporting proposals for projects that often involve environmental, regulatory, and technically complex scopes of work. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for environmental remediation, demolition, site development, and heavy civil construction projects. Analyze project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to develop accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing. Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure full scope coverage. Develop conceptual, schematic, and final estimates based on project phase and available information. Identify project risks related to environmental conditions, site constraints, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operations teams to review constructability and project approach. Assist in developing proposals, bid packages, and cost breakdowns for client submissions. Support value engineering efforts to optimize cost while maintaining project performance and compliance. Maintain and update cost databases, historical pricing, and production rates. Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client discussions as needed. Qualifications 5-10+ years of experience as an Estimator with a general contractor or heavy civil/environmental contractor. Experience estimating projects involving sitework, earthwork, remediation, demolition, or infrastructure construction. Strong understanding of construction documents, specifications, and bid processes. Ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs and cost analysis. Experience working on public works, industrial, or environmentally regulated projects is preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with environmental remediation, ecological restoration, dredging, or demolition projects. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance considerations in environmental construction. Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software such as Bluebeam, HCSS, HeavyBid, or similar tools. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
