An Estimator provides cost estimates for a project, based on an evaluation of the materials, labor, time and equipment needed to complete the project. May specialize in many aspects of construction or in manufacturing and design industries.
The Estimator will work with the Preconstruction department of Pan-Pacific Mechanical to accurately establish material and labor cost estimation of potential projects, work closely with all senior personnel in establishing the bid proposals, and team with project management once a job is awarded to review bid recaps and assist with additional job costs as needed through all phases of construction.
Responsible for all stages of the estimating and bidding processes including performing on-screen takeoffs for varying opportunities including large and complex projects Attend and participate in project bid meetings and job walks Prepare bid proposal documents including Pan-Pacific proposal letter, bid form per Customer requirements if required, and bid bonds as necessary Responsible for scope review of new project contracts Perform pricing of change bulletins issued to existing projects as required Work with HVAC team as needed on combination pursuits and projects Assist with project cost budgets and Schedule of Values for new project start-up Additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
5+ years of plumbing estimation strongly desired Ability to prepare Design-Build, Design-Assist, and Plans & Specs estimates and conceptual budgets Proficient in a variety of estimating software and on-screen programs, Trimble AutoBid is preferred Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word Experience performing plumbing take-offs on a variety of industry buildings including but not limited to: Healthcare (specifically OSHPD Level 1), High-Rises, Stadiums, Laboratories and Pharmaceuticals, Education Facilities, Airports and Transportation, and Hospitality Ability to work autonomously and prioritize tasks while meeting tight deadlines Highly organized and detail oriented Strong problem-solving abilities and creative thinking skills to assist in value engineering ideas Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Comfortable interacting with all levels of professionals, both inside and outside the organization Must be a team player and believe in our company core values of Family, Loyalty, and Respect The above job description is not intended to describe in detail the multitude of tasks that may be assigned but rather to give the associate a general sense of the responsibilities and expectations of his/her position.
