In the course of your work, you will develop accurate and competitive estimates for structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection projects. This position evaluates project documents, requirements, confirms scope and pricing, identifies bidding risks, and supports the successful transition from bid development through contract award. Key Responsibilities Review architectural, structural, and contract drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents. Analyze project requirements and accurately identify structural steel components, including beams, columns, braces, plates, connections, decking, stairs, railings, miscellaneous metals, and related materials. Prepare estimates for material, fabrication, finishing, delivery, equipment, and erection costs for residential projects. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, including piece counts, dimensions, lengths, areas, steel weights, and associated material quantities. Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) when drawings, specifications, or bid documents require clarification. Participate in bid review meetings, site visits, preconstruction meetings, and project handoff meetings as required. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Ability to read, interpret, and analyze structural drawings, specifications, and construction documents. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. Excellent organizational, verbal communication, and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis, or a related engineering discipline. Experience in structural steel estimating, steel fabrication, steel detailing, steel erection, or commercial construction. Experience with estimating, takeoff, and PDF markup software. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Tekla, or similar industry software.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
