MEP Estimator:
Responsible for preparing detailed estimates and competitive bids for commercial MEP construction projects. Reviews project plans, specifications, and contract documents to perform accurate material and labor takeoffs. Solicits and evaluates subcontractor and vendor pricing, develops budgets, and identifies project risks and cost-saving opportunities. Works closely with project managers, engineers, vendors, and clients throughout the estimating and preconstruction process.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed estimates for mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing scopes Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor/material pricing Solicit, review, and negotiate subcontractor and vendor quotes Develop bid proposals, budgets, and cost breakdowns Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, and potential project risks Participate in pre-bid meetings and communicate with clients and project team Assist with value engineering and scope development Maintain accurate estimating records and bid documentation Support the transition from estimating to project execution
Qualifications :
2+ years of MEP estimating experience preferred, with strong knowledge of commercial construction, plans/specifications and estimating software
