Duties Prepare comprehensive construction estimates for commercial flooring projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and site conditions. Utilize industry-standard estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to develop precise cost models and proposals. Collaborate with project managers, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather pricing data, negotiate terms, and secure competitive bids. Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and pricing analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates. Manage cost control throughout the project lifecycle by monitoring budgets, tracking changes, and adjusting estimates accordingly. Review construction contracts to identify scope of work, contractual obligations, and risk factors impacting costs. Assist in project management activities by providing timely estimates that support scheduling, resource allocation, and procurement planning. Qualifications Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on commercial flooring or related construction fields. Strong proficiency with Bluebeam Revu for digital plan review and markup; experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software is highly desirable. Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from suppliers and subcontractors. Solid understanding of construction management principles, including cost control, scheduling, and contract administration. Hands-on experience with construction site operations and familiarity with building codes and safety standards. Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately. Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and present detailed estimates clearly.
