Job Summary Senior - Chief Estimator Whether you are a seasoned Senior Estimator ready for that next step as a Chief Estimator or working right now in A Chief Estimator role and need a change. Join an industry leading general engineering contractor that specializes in large grading projects, highways, airports, landfill construction, dams, underground and pipeline, environmental and wetland restoration. underground utilities installations, wind and gas energy throughout the central and northern areas of California for the past 40 years! Responsibilities:
  • Review detailed construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop comprehensive estimates.
  • Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground information that influences project pricing and planning.
  • Collaborate with the team and clients to negotiate contracts, scope of work, and pricing terms.
  • Analyze material costs, labor rates, subcontractor quotes, and equipment needs to ensure accurate budgeting.
  • Provides technical and industry knowledge towards risk, contract management, owner relationships and vendor or subcontractor partnerships.
  • Monitor project budgets throughout the bidding process and during construction to maintain cost control.
  • Assist in the development of project schedules and resource planning to align estimates with project timelines.
  • Support contract negotiations and review contractual documents to mitigate risks and clarify scope.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors and clients.
  • Partners with estimating team to prepare and conduct project hand-off meetings between pursuit team and project management team.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field desired.
  • 10+ year experience in construction industry, estimating or cost control preferred.
  • Experience leading pursuit and estimating activities for large or complex projects.
  • Construction, design, finance and management experience required.
  • Expert knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software / Bluebeam.
  • Specialized knowledge and experience in alternative construction delivery methods.
  • Able to lead pursuit and estimating activities on a large or complex pursuit project.
  • Expert knowledge of best practices to control and reduce pursuit costs, quantities and risk.
Pay:
$200,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year Application Question(s): Should have 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience, including grading, highways, utilities, or pipelines?
