Overview Join our dynamic Custom Metal Fabrication Shop as an Estimator, where your expertise will drive the success of our projects from initial concept to final delivery. In this energetic role, you will be the key player in evaluating project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and collaborating closely with clients, suppliers, and internal teams. Your proactive approach and keen eye for detail will ensure competitive pricing, effective cost management, and seamless project execution. Duties Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately interpret project scope and material requirements. Develop detailed cost estimates for custom metal fabrication projects using Excel and other equivalent construction estimating tools. Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers and vendors to secure the best materials and services while maintaining quality standards. Prepare comprehensive bids by calculating labor, material costs, equipment needs, and overhead expenses; utilize Bluebeam for markup and collaboration on digital plans. Collaborate with project managers, clients, and contractors to review contracts, clarify scope changes, and ensure accurate pricing adjustments. Assist in developing project timelines by estimating labor hours and material lead times; ensure estimates reflect realistic delivery schedules. Maintain clear communication channels with clients regarding bid proposals, scope clarifications, and project updates to foster trust and transparency. Skills Proficiency in estimating using Excel Strong knowledge of Bluebeam a plus. Excellent blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately. Skilled in negotiation with suppliers, vendors, and clients to achieve favorable pricing terms. Deep understanding of construction drawing review processes, material cost estimating, and cost management strategies. Ability to interpret technical specifications, contracts, and construction documents effectively. Strong communication skills for client interaction, team collaboration, and presenting detailed estimates confidently.
