Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Commercial Electrical Estimator to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive electrical project estimates for commercial construction projects. Your expertise will help drive project success by ensuring precise cost analysis, effective bid preparation, and seamless communication with clients and project teams. Responsibilities Review construction drawings, electrical blueprints, and technical specifications to determine project scope and requirements Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical systems, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services Utilize estimating software such as McCormick and other digital tools to develop accurate bids and proposals Conduct thorough material cost estimating and pricing analysis to ensure competitive yet profitable bids Collaborate with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams through effective negotiation to secure favorable terms and pricing Ensure all estimates comply with NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70 standards, electrical building codes, and other relevant regulations Review construction documents for accuracy, constructability issues, and potential risks; provide value engineering suggestions when appropriate Manage project budgets by monitoring costs throughout the bidding process and adjusting estimates as needed for accuracy Support contract negotiations by providing detailed scope of work estimates and clarifying technical details Assist in construction site visits to verify existing conditions and validate estimate assumptions when required Manage and facilitate email communications Skills Extensive experience with electrical estimating, including cost control and material cost estimation Proficiency in estimating software such as McCormick, Bluebeam/Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), and other relevant tools Strong understanding of electrical blueprint reading, schematic/specification interpretation, and construction drawing review Knowledge of electrical systems design, installation practices, electrical building codes (NEC), and NFPA 70 compliance standards Excellent negotiation skills to foster positive relationships with clients and suppliers Ability to read and interpret complex construction documents accurately Effective communication skills for client interactions and internal team collaboration Construction industry experience with a focus on commercial projects; prior construction site or management experience is a plus Familiarity with contracts, project management principles, cost management strategies, and construction estimating best practices Join us to be part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to delivering top-tier electrical solutions.
