Your primary focus will be preparing and tracking detailed EPC cost estimates for complex turnkey EV charging, solar, and battery energy storage projects using Tesla technology. You'll also build and maintain internal tools and processes for the estimating team. The Energy Projects team is a cross-functional group responsible for the engineering and execution of EV charging, solar and storage projects. This includes development, design, analysis, project management, estimation, construction, and commissioning. The team works at the intersection of business development, Tesla technology, and project deployment across the Americas, driving success across a wide range of applications. This role requires a passion for transforming energy infrastructure in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. We're looking for candidates with a strong work ethic, team orientation, creativity, and passion for innovation in a dynamic tech landscape. What You'll Do Create estimates and firm bids for EV charging, battery storage and PV projects, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontracting, permitting, interconnection, and ancillary costs Develop and maintain cost estimating tools and databases using historical data from previous projects, quotes, productivity reports, and value-engineering efforts Participate in design, pre-construction, construction, commissioning, and post-mortem processes Support new product initiatives and mentor engineers to drive excellence and standardization What You'll Bring Degree in engineering or equivalent experience 4+ years of experience estimating power generation projects (experience in EV charging or battery storage preferred) Knowledge of procurement, cost trade-offs between equipment vendors, and construction or manufacturing sequences and associated time requirements Strong written and verbal communication and ability to provide technical guidance Proficiency in MS Office (including advanced Excel), CAD, and data analytical skills Experience in fast-paced organizations with the ability to prioritize multiple projects or tasks Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $112,000 - $217,200/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
