Los Angeles Metropolitan Area; Pasadena, CA Morillo Construction, Inc. is a full-service general building and general engineering contractor located in Pasadena, California. Our emphasis is on public works construction in Southern California, where we are providing a growing list of expertise to our public and private sector clients. We have a dedicated staff that is experienced with the special requirements of green building. We are seeking a Junior Estimator who will be responsible for producing detailed estimates in a timely manner. Must remain current on marketplace developments, adjusting practices and estimating technology advances.

Responsibilities:
Seek out bid opportunities and attend job walks as necessary. Work in the estimating department alongside Estimating team and upper management to ensure project bids are prepared for a timely submission Read all contract documents to understand scope of projects in order to properly estimate and package bid. Analyze bid proposals for scope and pricing and maintain in-house updated unit costs and estimating data by division. Prepare estimate spreadsheets, quantity takeoffs complete with budget pricing using historical data and RS Means Research unique products and gather pricing Build subcontractor relationships and negotiate with subcontractors. Organize Plans & Specs files on Company server Assist Project Management team in providing change order backup including scope coverage, quantity takeoff, and pricing Prepare budgetary estimates for projects in various design phases Qualifications (REQUIRED): Bachelor's degree and 5 years related construction Estimating experience Experience with bidding public works projects Familiar with various project delivery methods Experience using BlueBeam, PlanSwift (or similar), and RS Means Must be able to bid on multiple projects concurrently Effectively communicate with subcontractors and vendors Qualifications (PREFERRED): Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience working with LAUSD, County of LA, and similar Los Angeles-based public contracting agencies Reports to:
Senior Estimator/Chief Estimator Salary Range:
$85,000 -$115,000
