Earthwork & Grading Estimator Urata and Sons Concrete LLC is hiring an experienced Earthwork & Grading Estimator to join our estimating team in Rancho Cordova. We are a union heavy civil / concrete contractor pursuing earthwork and grading work across Northern California and Nevada. This role is for someone who already performs their own AGTEK takeoffs, builds complete quantities, and puts together competitive estimates — not a trainee seat. What you'll do Perform your own AGTEK quantity takeoffs and mass haul / cut-fill analysis from civil and grading plans Quantify and estimate earthwork, grading, excavation, import/export, erosion control, and related sitework scopes Build complete bid packages including labor, equipment, materials, trucking, and subcontractor pricing Review plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and soils reports to identify risk and scope gaps Participate in job walks and pre-bid meetings as needed Coordinate vendor and subcontractor quotes and close bids on deadline Support pursuits on Northern California public and private earthwork / grading projects What we're looking for Proven experience estimating earthwork and grading projects in Northern California (or comparable California markets) Hands-on proficiency with AGTEK Strong understanding of grading operations, cut/fill balancing, production rates, and earthmoving equipment Ability to read civil drawings, grading plans, and specs and turn them into accurate quantities and costs Comfortable managing multiple bids and hard deadlines Familiarity with California prevailing wage / public works estimating is a plus Field background in grading or heavy civil is a plus Experience with Bluebeam and Excel is required The basics
Location:
In office — Rancho Cordova, CA (3430 Luyung Drive). This is not a remote position.
Pay:
$110,000-$140,000 annually, depending on experience
