Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Estimator to join our construction team. Duties Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to interpret project scope and requirements. Develop comprehensive estimates for residential construction projects, including material costs, labor, equipment, and subcontractor bids. Utilize estimating software such as Bluebeam to prepare accurate cost proposals and bid packages. Manage material cost estimating by analyzing blueprints and technical drawings to determine quantities and specifications. Collaborate with clients and internal teams through negotiation to finalize pricing strategies that align with project budgets and goals. Monitor project budgets during the bidding process, ensuring estimates are competitive yet profitable. Communicate clearly with clients regarding estimate details, scope adjustments, and contract negotiations. Support contract review processes by interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and contractual documents to ensure accuracy in estimates. Experience Proven experience as a construction estimator or managing projects as a construction estimator within the residential construction industry. Strong proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, Xactimate, along with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, construction drawing review, and interpreting technical drawings. Demonstrated ability in cost management, cost control, material cost estimating, and estimating construction project budgets. Hands-on experience with construction site activities and understanding of construction management practices. Excellent negotiation skills combined with effective client communication abilities. Familiarity with contracts, project management principles, and construction industry standards is highly desirable. Construction industry experience emphasizing estimation for commercial projects is essential for success in this role.
